Manager, Volunteer Engagement

We are seeking a forward-thinking, self-starter, and results-oriented individual who is passionate about attracting, engaging and retaining volunteers to join our Community Resources Division.
Essential functions of the Manager, Volunteer Engagement position will be to develop, manage and execute the strategies of the volunteer engagement department in a timely and efficient manner. These duties include, but are not limited to: managing department programs, workflows, and projects to assure timely and accurate roll-out of processes and activities, managing assigned staff, their daily activities, training, professional development, mentorship, and performance evaluations, assuming significant responsibility in the forecasting, determining and setting of budget allocations required to meet departmental and organizational strategic objectives, ensuring fiscal responsibility, strict adherence to the Board approved budget and financial policies, and monitoring financial trends to allow for strategic adjustments to assure maximum ROI. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, certification or equivalent required in related field, and a minimum of five years of working experience in volunteer engagement/management. In addition, this individual must have superior project management and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers. Ability to apply volunteer engagement expertise to global markets and meet the needs of each region is preferred but not required.
This is not a remote position, the successful candidate will work out of our headquarter office located in Rockville, Maryland. In addition, the successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States, pass an extensive background screening which includes but is not limited to criminal, education, and skills assessment.
