We are seeking a creative, get-the-job-done, seasoned association manager to direct a variety of interdepartmental activities as well as one-off projects for our growing association.
Headquartered in Robbinsville, Mercer County, New Jersey with a staff of 16, the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT), is a global organization for the pharmaceutical development and manufacturing industry. The organization provides programs, events and services that assist members in meeting their business objectives, expand their network of customers and suppliers, and gain insights into industry trends, markets, and those issues impacting the business of pharmaceuticals.
This newly created position, The Director of Strategic Projects, may be the perfect fit for you if you have worked within an association and have knowledge of, or experience in, one or several areas such as: meeting management, marketing, membership, public relations, operations and customer service. At our busy, fast-paced organization, you’ll need to use that background and experience to evaluate projects, develop a path forward, and lead those projects to a successful conclusion.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the primary responsibilities of the Director of Strategic Projects will be to:
Determine, develop and lead new or special projects.
Manage interdepartmental projects to ensure consistent communication, collaboration, efficient operations as well as the appropriate progress towards goals.
Assist with the development and/or manage key projects of volunteer committees, board and advisory groups.
Experience and Qualifications:
College graduate with a minimum of 5 year’s experience at a not-for-profit trade, charitable association or professional society.
Work at the organization’s headquarters. This is not a remote position.
Experienced with team and project leadership.
Experienced with RFP’s, vendor negotiation, contracts and delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of association services/events and their importance to membership and organizational sustainability.
Proven ability to analyze financial needs or constraints and maintain budgets.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while still meeting deadlines.
Have exhibited excellent customer facing, presentation and people skills.
Must be able to travel at least 10 business days per year, overnight and possess a passport.
Strong leadership and consensus building skills.
The ability to work independently, collaborate as a team member and interact with all levels of staff and volunteers.
Organized, detail oriented.
Pro-Active, Can-Do, Get-The-Job-Done attitude.
