The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator is responsible for ensuring continuous operation of the LMS to support APA’s distance learning needs. This position is responsible for the overall administration of APA’s online education.
Duties and responsibilities
Provides functional support for APA’s LMS, including the user interface design, development, implementation, data governance and system administration. Manages system licensing, complex upgrades, and ongoing maintenance with the vendor and IT team.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to maximize LMS utilization and effectiveness. Facilitates staff development of APA’s strategic direction for learning technologies including product pricing strategies, consistency in data input, maintaining platforms, security, learning records, and electronic surveys.
Ensures system scalability and stability by developing and enforcing LMS policies, processes, and reporting.
Serves as the subject matter expert on the LMS, understanding system functionality and configuration options. Performs quality assurance checks on system and resolves problems with course design and LMS front-end configuration.
Sets up LMS products and maintains an online product inventory. Develops and implements procedures for entering online products into various systems, linking to CM logs and creating user evaluations. Monitors usage data and provides monthly usage reports. Maintains education web pages and product information in APA databases.
Offers technical support for internal staff, members, customers, and business partners. Works closely with membership/customer service staff to identify and address questions about accessing education products. Develops LMS training and support materials (user guides, FAQs, etc.) that enhance the user experience.
In collaboration with the Director Education and the Education Committee develops and implements APA’s eLearning strategy.

Qualifications (Education and Experience)
Bachelor’s degree required
3-5 years front-end administration and troubleshooting on a technology-based learning platform (Moodle Learning Management System required).
Three years’ experience providing logistical support and LMS administration in nonprofit environment required.
Experience publishing courseware using e-learning standards such as SCORM and AICC-compliant learning objects required, xAPI preferred.
An integral understanding of at least one of the following contemporary eLearning authoring software tools: Articulate Storyline, Lectora, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia preferred.
Demonstrated ability to analyze information, document conclusions, and develop recommendations.
Excellent teamwork, verbal and written communication (including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms), as well as project and time management skills are essential.

Additional Salary Information: Salary range of 60,000- $85,000 for the lifetime of the position
