The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the national not-for-profit association established in 1863 that represents over 91,000 veterinarians working in private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia and uniformed services, is seeking a Member Services and Recruitment Representative to join our Membership and Field Services team located at our Headquarters office in Schaumburg, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
This position will report to the Member Relations Supervisor and is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service by responding to and resolving inquiries and requests from members, prospective members, customers and the public via telephone, fax, email and mail. This position will also assist with the implementation and maintenance of membership recruitment and retention campaigns as well as actively recruit eligible non-members for AVMA membership.
A high school diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years of customer/member service experience is required. A bachelor’s degree and association experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. We require working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; membership database experience and knowledge is preferred. A qualified candidate must be highly organized with extreme attention to detail and able to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. The flexibility to work outside of normal office hours and travel on behalf of the AVMA, as needed, is required. Less than 5% travel.
