A newly added position at ASA—manager, council programs and chapters—is an exciting chance for an association professional with five years of component relations experience to support and strengthen the association’s councils, chapters, and member communities.
The manager will have primary oversight of 16 state affiliated chapters and will support 10 regional councils with program development that includes in-person meetings, conference calls, and member resource development. This position will work across departments to ensure effective event planning, marketing, virtual community management, and advocacy efforts are met to support these various member components. Responsibilities include but are not limited to volunteer management, program development, member service, meeting and event management, marketing and communication, and management of the chapter group tax exemption process. Travel is required.

Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years association management experience. Experience with component relations, councils, or chapters is required. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects; and competency using technology, including Microsoft Office applications and database management. Should have strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, manage projects with accuracy and attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a demanding, busy, fast-paced environment. Strong writing and editing skills required; should be comfortable with public speaking and frequent travel.
