The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is the national trade association representing apparel, footwear, sewn products companies, and their suppliers, which compete in the global market. AAFA promotes and seeks to enhance member companies’ competitiveness, productivity and profitability in the global marketplace.
The Sponsorship Development Manager supports the development functions of the association’s Education and Corporate Marketing department with a primary focus on AAFA sponsorships and educational programming – in person and virtual, as well as committees, and special events. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a background in corporate relations, business development, association management, and familiarity with CRM/database operations and the Go To Webinar platform. Key attributes include project management, relationship building, sponsorship and program development with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and within a small team.
Assume lead responsibilities to meet sponsor revenue goals
Cultivate and foster relationships with all sponsors
Conduct all sponsor logistics including, event communications, registration processing, invoicing/payment status, and coordination of applicable sponsor benefits per event.
Oversee and execute all components of the AAFA open-industry webinar program
Five years of direct experience in relationship building and sponsorship generation.
Highly proficient in written and oral communication.
Knowledge of how to build a program and develop educational content
Organized, detail oriented, computer literate, enjoys working in a team environment.
Some travel to events and meetings as related to duties.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and GoTo Webinar.
CRM/iMIS database experience a plus.
