This association management professional initiates and maintains effective internal and external relationships with members and staff to ensure that the association grows in influence, size and usefulness to its members. This individual organizes and actively manages member recruitment and retention programs, manages professional development programs, and implements services.
Membership and Professional Development:
•Develops and coordinates an annual membership drive •Supports and manages volunteer committees •Develops and coordinates an annual retention program •Works with regional councils to recruit and retain members •Implements education, networking and training programs statewide •Coordinates course descriptions, learning objectives, speaker biographies, headshots, and related information for development of education calendar and all promotional materials •Implements certification programs on a statewide basis •Keeps abreast of all education developments on the national level •Researches and recommends speakers for consideration •Maintains a library of education speakers and presentations •Develops and maintains an operating budget for membership and education programs. •Oversees and assists in dues billing and collections •Provides information for publications, website, and social media on membership and education functions •Solicits sponsors as needed for the various educational and membership events
•Prepares agendas and takes minutes for committees and councils and follows up on action items •Executes duties, responsibilities and functions within the fiscal confines of an approved budget •Attends regional and national meetings as needed •Works with support staff that prepares all registration material, mailing of education material and set up of class functions to complete administrative duties •Compiles monthly reports
•Bachelor’s degree •Association management experience •Experience working with volunteers and committees •Proven sales and member-service oriented communication skills •Membership recruitment knowledge or similar sales experience •The ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously
