Member Services Coordinator opening at the American Financial Services Association (AFSA), the primary trade association for the consumer credit industry, located in Washington, DC (near Farragut West Metro) with a staff of 28. AFSA is seeking a personable and detail-oriented individual for this new position which supports the Member Services and Engagement Department. As a key customer service contact for members, this individual will work with members to help them access and utilize members-only services and update the database, process membership applications, maintain committee membership lists, and assist with the annual dues billing and member surveys. The Membership Coordinator reports to the VP, Member Services & Engagement, and works closely with the Director, Membership & Marketing and the Director of Accounting.
Specific Membership Responsibilities:
Update the association’s (AMS) database (Alliance by Protech) including section, divisions and committee members. Assist with researching and updating membership marketing lists.
Process new member applications and send confirmation packages.
Send new member ballots to the AFSA Board of Directors for approval and notify members.
Manage the Membership Demographics Survey and update database with
Work with accounting department and the VP, Member Services to manage the annual dues billing and assist with collections.
Update Committee membership lists and produce reports. Send semi-annual Committee Participation Report to members and manage updates.
Assist VP, Membership Services and Engagement to manage the Human Resources Committee and meetings.
Serve as administrator for the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC)

Desired Skills, Experience, and Personal Characteristics:
4-year college degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.
Strong database management skills; experience with CRM is a plus.
1 to 2 years’ administrative experience preferred, in customer, membership or client services.
Outstanding interpersonal, organization, communication and management skills with the ability to work effectively in a member-focused and team-oriented culture.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
