The Senior Associate, Communications will have a range of responsibilities in supporting member and public outreach, as well as assisting our internal efforts to assemble and expand a “Knowledge” library of core research and information on the intersection of solar and other distributed energy resources with the electric utility business. The Senior Associate possesses strong overall communications skills, with demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing. They are well versed in digital communications, especially social media channels. The Senior Associate is able to organize and manage information and has a willingness to handle administrative and project management tasks with minimal supervision.
Playing a role to build and execute SEPA’s digital engagement strategy, including data analysis, social media listening strategies and influencer engagement to grow the impact of SEPA’s digital footprint in the electricity sector.
Provide outside social media firm with strategic communications guidance and enable them to handle the daily posting and activities
Coordinate and produce SEPA's bi-weekly e-mail newsletter, including working with internal teams to develop and edit content and prepare for publication.
Assist with the weekly production of blog entries and the collection and posting of content for the weekly email newsletter Utility Dive Solar.
Aid in the expansion of our multimedia profile on the website, social media channels and elsewhere.
Provides communications and logistical support for Top 10 and SEPA Power Players Awards
Write blog posts, white papers or other content related to SEPA’s mission
Able to edit within AP style
Assist with the writing, editing, and dissemination of press releases and statements.
Coordinate SEPA’s ‘Speakers Bureau’ and Knowledge Brown Bag schedule, including all logistics and communications with outside speakers
Coordinate Knowledge efforts to keep staff abreast of the latest news and trends within the electric power sector
Other tasks as assigned
Minimum 2 years of experience in a communications role
Experience in a digital communications coordination
Experience with diverse communication platforms including print, online, and social media
Ability to conduct online research and find a range of different sources
Experience with Google platform including Drive, Mail, & Apps
