Education and Training, Project Management/Program Development
A national, non-profit organization of 250,000 middle and high school students with a focus on STEM, is seeking an experienced education program manager to work in its Reston, Virginia office approximately 30 to 35 hours per week. This is not a telecommuting position.
The chosen candidate will provide vision and leadership for national education competitions. Candidates with experience in secondary education and/or the STEM community are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with educators to develop, write, produce and implement multi-faceted state and national education competitions serving middle and high school students
Providing participating middle and high school teachers resources, such as guides, documents and webinars • Developing scoring rubrics and coordinating competition results
Managing volunteers who implement the competitions
Collaborating with marketing and communications staff to expand participation strategies
Enhancing and maintaining relationships with related professional organizations
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
A bachelor's degree
Three to five years of experience in program management, preferably in a non-profit organization
Exceptional organization, written and verbal communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
Being energetic, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
Approximately two weeks of annual travel should be expected. The position reports to the TSA executive director. There is paid leave, a 401K program, however, no healthcare benefits. Consultants or contractors need not apply.

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit youth orgainzation of 250,000 middle and high school technology students who are engaged in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Since 1978, almost 4,000,000 student members have participated through challenging competitions, leadership opportunities, and community service. TSA offers more than 60 intra-curricular STEM contests to middle and high school students across the nation. All competitions are correlated with national STEM standards.
