The Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) is seeking an organized and self motivated individual to provide administrative support for the CVMA body and board of trustees. This is a part time position averaging 15-20 hours per month.
Work with the CVMA board and president to coordinate meeting location, draft meeting agenda, and preparing other materials for the board meetings. Attendance to every monthly board meeting (typically the first Tuesday of the month, no meeting in the months of July and August) is required.
Maintain effective communications with the CVMA membership via means including mail, electronic, or others as needed. This includes producing a monthly electronic newsletter for CVMA members, maintaining the website and other social media pages, serve as the main contact for the association and direct correspondence to proper board members, market activities and meetings to membership and other relevant parties, such as continuing education events.
Manage and invoice the membership renewal and recruitment process annually.
Coordinate with the program chair for the continuing education meetings including the venue, food/beverage, speaker logistics, AV support, registration, attendee handouts, meeting evaluation, and other needs. Serve as the logistical contact for the speakers and provide support such as hotel reservations/travel assistance if needed. Attendance to all continuing education meetings (typically 5 evening meetings and one Sunday a year) unless otherwise specified is required.
Coordinate with board members to seek sponsorship support for continuing education events from relevant corporate organizations.
Provide and manage annual development plan for CVMA Charitable Foundation to include a wide variety of fundraising sources such as an annual campaign and planned giving opportunities.
Provide general administrative support such as maintaining all association files and researching requests for the board.
Bachelors’ degree in nonprofit management, public health, communications, business or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required.
At least three years of related administrative experience required. Experience in a veterinary practice setting and/or medical association involvement is highly desired.
Proficiency in MS Office is required. Strong organizational skills are required. Must be an excellent communicator that is self motivated and detail oriented. Experience with charitable foundations and fundraising is strongly preferred.
