The Meeting Planner in the AUSA Meetings department is responsible for all logistical aspects of the Meeting Department's symposia, Hot Topics, and Breakfast programs, a defined set of logistical concerns for the Annual Meeting, and other departments' meetings, or specific elements of their meetings, as tasked.
Duties include site selection, contract negotiation, budget preparation, coordinating and publishing agendas, coordinating speaker lists and schedules, and tracking RSVP's from speakers. At the AUSA Annual Meeting, the Meeting Planner will serve as the main point of contact responsible for scheduling in conjunction with Meetings at the Convention Center and headquarters hotel; will coordinate customer requirements with the relevant vendors, and monitor performance on site, as well as perform related duties.
Candidate should have 2-4 years of experience in event management, and a working knowledge of and proficiency in event logistics, site selection, contract negotiation, experience in all aspects of meeting planning and management for programs of all sizes, and food and beverage principles and practice. Knowledge of SalesForce/Fonteva and eShow a plus. Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and Excel required.
Candidate should be able to work in a fast paced pressure-filled, deadline oriented environment with minimal supervision. Ability travel is required. Ability to function as part of a team is a must.
