The American Gem Society is a nonprofit trade association of fine jewelry professionals, seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, to fill our full-time position working in a professional office environment.
Management of the following projects include: Membership Touchpoints, Membership Renewal, Conclave, Circle of Distinction, and Trade Shows.
Specific responsibilities include:
Responds to member inquiries and qualifies prospective members on a timely basis. Develops customized information packets and performs active follow up to ensure the conversion of the prospect into a member.
Actively searches industry news outlets and websites for prospects and inputs information into database for future follow up.
Identifies prospect opportunities through events and education programs sponsored and/or attended by the organization on and off-site.
Executes preexisting Membership Touch Point strategy and/or develops new strategy to contact prospects. Includes: direct email correspondence, telephone marketing, and direct mail.
Manages the new member and current member engagement campaigns per Membership Touch Point strategy and/or develops new strategy. Includes: new member kits, direct mail campaigns, outbound calls and electronic communications.
Works with Director of Membership to implement campaigns directed at renewing, at risk, and expired members.
Responds to telephone and electronic inquiries concerning membership and services.
Provides administrative support to the new member orientations.
Membership Department Admin:
First point of contact for members, prospects and consumers.
Represents the Society during industry events, such as trade shows (will include travel, and working weekend and evening hours).
Works closely with the Project Associate to ensure the correctness of member information in the database, including updating of records as well as screening and adding new prospects to database.
Works closely with Event Planner to assist in planning and coordinating member events. Includes: event logistics and sales of advertising, sponsorships, and registrations/tickets.
Makes decisions on basic projects. Researches policies/solutions and reports to Director of Membership concerning various projects.
Stay apprised of association activities, policies, and services in order to respond to inquiries appropriately.
Assist Director of Membership in preparing monthly reports to be included with the quarterly Board report produced by the CEO.
Assist in creation of marketing collateral and communications that support the Membership Department as well as executes special projects for new membership department initiatives.
Performs additional duties as required.

Proven project management skills.
Required education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required.
1-2 years of customer relations experience, preferably in membership in a non-profit organization
