The American Road & Transportation Builders Association, a national organization located near Capitol Hill and focused on increasing mobility and infrastructure safety, has an opening for a new team member who is interested in making a difference in peoples’ lives.
We are looking for an energetic, self-starter with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include:
Member Services, Engagement & Development
Lead development team research and organization by putting together information for prospective members and new members as well as tracking their engagement.
Serve as the primary point of contact for secondary prospects. Create lists of potential new members using various resources. Reach out to prospective members submitting online inquiries.
In partnership with the development and graphic design team, create and maintain membership and promotional materials.
Provide programmatic support for four regional leadership team conference calls and activities.
Create and lead the on-boarding process for new members.
In collaboration with vice president of meetings and other senior staff, manage relationships with volunteer leaders and help plan/organize key conferences and events.
Serve as the primary point of contact for select quarterly webinars.
Organize and help lead the membership development team calls and meetings.
In collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer and other team members, work on the transition to a new membership database.
Work with database coordinator, ensure chapter and individual member records are routinely and accurately updated.
Manage integration of member database and annual updates to the membership directory.
Serve as primary liaison to state chapter communications, event planning and administrative staff members. Regularly send chapter communications staff members materials for use in their publications.
Manages requests from chapter affiliates for information, services and/or assistance coming through phone calls, emails and elsewhere. Work with various staff in providing responses as appropriate.
Manage, as directed, logistics and support for Washington fly-ins, office visits by state chapters, and staff travel to state chapters.
Routinely maintain database of all elected state chapter officers and send material to new chapter presidents/chairmen welcoming them to the Board of Directors.
Manage and grow the association’s Affinity Program with multiple vendors.
Manage relationships with current vendors and contact prospective vendors that can bring added-value services to members.
Ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of full-time experience, with preference for association or non-profit professionals. Position requires a bachelor’s degree and includes occasional travel.
Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite programs.
Proficiency with customer management software.
Attention to detail, strong organizational, writing, time management, customer service skills, and the ability to multi-task.
