AACC, a DC-based dynamic, international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry, essential to the science of lab tests, and related disciplines, is seeking a Coordinator, AACC Academy & Global Affairs.
The Coordinator, AACC Academy & Global Affairs provides administrative and logistical support to department staff involved in the management of global outreach initiatives and the AACC Academy.
Reporting to the Program Manager, Global Outreach and the Manager, AACC Academy, the Coordinator, AACC Academy & Global Affairs will help support the AACC Academy, the Global Lab Quality Initiative (GLQI) International Membership Grants program and other international initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
Global Lab Quality Initiative
- Provide logistical support for all GLQI programs, assisting with travel related logistics such as booking travel, purchasing international travel medical insurance, and arranging accommodations for members; preparing workshop materials; tracking the budget; assisting in tracking project timelines; and communicating with partner organizations regarding other logistics as needed
- Provide logistical support for GLQI face-to-face-meetings, conference calls, and web conferences
- Attend meetings, both virtual and in person, as requested to record deliberations and compile and distribute discussion minutes
- Process survey responses and prepare reports
- Maintain and update the Global Health Outreach website
- Other duties as assigned
International Membership Grants
- Serve as the primary point-of-contact to applicants and gather all applications for the Awards Committee’s review
- Maintain communication with stakeholders and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Maintain and implement communications and marketing plan
- Prepare reports from database as required
- Maintain and update program website
AACC Academy
- Provide logistical assistance for Academy face-to-face meetings, conference calls, and web conferences
- Attend committee meetings as requested to record deliberations and compile and distribute discussion minutes
- Regularly update website, including biweekly Scientific Shorts
- Process membership applications and approvals, including communication with new fellows
- Support Academy membership maintenance procedures, including monitoring and notifying lapsed fellows
- Provide logistical support for Academy annual scientific meeting (ASM) events
- Maintain calendars and timelines for Scientific Shorts and artery posts
- Maintain Academy expertise database
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree and one to two years of related experience. Work experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience multi-tasking while meeting deadlines.
- Interest in association management.
