Salary Details:
Part Time: 30 hours per week. A regular schedule will be agreed upon (i.e. working 7.5 hour days on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). IAHSS is seeking a Chicagoland-based employee. If the candidate prefers to work remotely, the candidate is responsible for expenses of working remotely.

Certification Manager, IAHSS
Part Time
The Certification Manger is responsible for certification and recertification for IAHSS certifications, including the CHPA, Basic, Advanced, Supervisor and Safety certifications. This position interfaces with certification candidates, IAHSS members, academic institutions, and the general public. A customer service orientation is a must. The Manager also monitors and tracks candidates’ progress within a certification management system, communicating with candidates when necessary. The Manager ensures that IAHSS standards for its assessments are upheld. The Manager works with the IAHSS Commission on Certification to develop innovative approaches to certification, recertification, and quality assurance. The manager will also serve as a staff liaison to other volunteer committees, including Affiliations, International, Journal and others as needed.

Responsibilities
- Processes certification and recertification applications & requirements for CHPA, Basic, Advanced and Supervisor Certifications.
- Ensures NCCA compliance and IAHSS standards are maintained for the CHPA Program
- Administers the online certification management system in which the certification manager:
- Creates, maintains, and updates candidate accounts and tracks their progress
- Maintains certification data
- Monitors certification progress
- Receives, verifies, and processes certification program applications.
- Maintains online certification information; maintains certification rosters via accurate data entry and shares certification statuses with IAHSS.
- Participates in review and revision of certification and quality assurance materials.
- Updates certification program data on the IAHSS websites, spreadsheets, and internal tracking systems.
- Effectively communicates with testers regarding IAHSS policies.
- Represents IAHSS positively in person, communicating effectively regarding protocols, procedures, and policies related to IAHSS certification programs via email, discussion boards, telephone, meetings, and virtual webinars.
- Facilitates data-driven decision-making through a meticulous collection of program records, authoring of reports, and communicating about program activities, needs, and requirements.
- General Administration: Plans and coordinates administrative activities that lead to the productive management of the Certification Programs.
- Participates in the IAHSS Annual Conference.
- Serve as a staff liaison to volunteer committees, including Affiliations, International, Journal and others as needed.
- May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects, as required.
Qualifications
- Must demonstrate good judgment, professionalism, sound application of subject matter expertise; responsiveness in support of the IAHSS mission.
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience required.
- Have a comprehensive functioning knowledge of psychometrics as they pertain to certification programs, knowledge of NCCA standards and best practices.
- Ability to comfortably organize and facilitate virtual meetings.
- At least one year of experience using Excel for professional and/or academic purposes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to employ features like sorting, filtering, and general formulas.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and public speaking skills, and outstanding email etiquette.
- Strong organization, planning, and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively, cooperatively, and collegially in a results-oriented environment.
- Must be alert and resourceful.
- Must be an effective organizer and pay close attention to detail.
- Must maintain a positive and energetic attitude toward serving our members.
- Ability to work independently with high level guidance to manage several wide-ranging projects.
Reporting Relationship: Report to CEO
IAHSS has a small, 5-person team managing a wide range of activities and products designed to help our members in their professional careers. Attention to detail, positive attitude and adaptability are essential.
IAHSS is the only organization solely dedicated to professionals involved in managing and directing security and safety programs in healthcare institutions. IAHSS is comprised of over 2,300 security, law enforcement and safety professionals dedicated to the protection of healthcare facilities worldwide.
IAHSS is seeking a Chicagoland-based employee. If the candidate prefers to work remotely, the candidate is responsible for expenses of working remotely. IAHSS may require your occasional attendance at meetings or functions at its headquarters and is not responsible for your travel expenses to or from headquarters. If IAHSS requires you to travel to other locations or incur hotel charges, the Executive Director will determine reimbursement in advance of travel.
Annual Salary: $66,000 (non-exempt status) This will be paid in bi-monthly payroll.
