Position Summary

The National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) seeks an engaging, creative, self-motivated individual to join our Marketing team. The marketing assistant will assist in executing tactical marketing objectives, email communications, and marketing content. This position will work closely with the director of membership & marketing and the marketing manager to increase NACUFS’ brand awareness and grow membership. By employing best practices and a suite of association tools, the marketing assistant is tasked with assisting in the execution of cross-departmental marketing and communication plans. This position will have a strong focus on new member recruitment and onboarding, member engagement, and member renewals.

Primary Responsibilities

Communications

• Layout content and publish eBlasts for all departments
• Serve as backup for weekly eNewsletter
• Upload electronic publications and publication links into Nxtbook, including but not limited to the membership directory and NACUFS’ magazine

Graphic Design

• Design graphic elements including, but not limited to, events, learning, mobile app, website, signage, publications, brochures, mailers, posters, and advertising
• Coordinate advertisements for NACUFS’ magazine

Marketing & Brand Management

• Serve as an editor of the website focusing on updates to content and graphics
• Utilize project management software to ensure timely delivery of assigned marketing tasks
• Work with marketing team to develop, implement, and track membership recruitment and renewal campaigns
• Manage the member journey, including new member onboarding and ongoing engagement campaigns focused on the association’s programs and events
• Provide monthly reports on membership recruitment/renewal efforts against targets

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or similar
• Minimum of three years of marketing experience
• Experience in graphic design
• HTML proficiency is a plus
• Experience with database management and analyzing reports
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient with Adobe Design, Canva, or other graphic design tools
• Experience utilizing email marketing platforms (Higher Logic/Informz experience a plus)
• Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities with multiple stakeholders
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
