Position Title: Production Manager/Graphic Designer
The Production Manager/Graphic Designer is a member of the marketing and communications team and oversees design, layout, and coordination of production of print and digital materials across the organization. This is a production-heavy role that will require working across the organization to support NPMA programs and services, and those of our managed state associations. Reports to Vice President, Marketing and Communications and works closely with the entire marketing and communications team.
Create marketing and communications collateral, digital/web communications media, advertising and promotion, and presentations in support of NPMA and managed state membership, conferences and events, and other programs, services, and resources in adherence with brand guidelines.
Manage and execute high volume of deliverables for NPMA and managed state associations including brochures and mailings; on-site programs; digital banners, ads, and social media graphics; presentations; and other print and digital collateral.
Establish and update brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all deliverables.
Oversee full production cycle, and work with print, digital and/or video vendors and submit properly specified and prepared files and formats.
Build branded templates that are easy-to-use by staff and other stakeholders and update collateral when needed, including writeable PDFs, PowerPoint templates, and other design pieces
Able to stay current on industry trends and best practices.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or reputable design school; and minimum 5 years related professional-level experience required in creative/graphic design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced knowledge and expert level of Adobe CC suite (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to organize and maintain multiple jobs simultaneously while upholding the highest standards in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment is required.
Basic coding experience to support HTML emails and web content.
Conceptual understanding of social media for business, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
Superior visual conceptual skills, design techniques, typographic skills, knowledge of applicable media requirements, tools, procedures, terminology and vendor requirement capabilities.
Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage own time and take initiative
Compelling portfolio that shows the ability to create materials that are impactful and drive results.
Video editing/Premiere Pro experience ideal, but not required.
Experience working in a membership association is a plus.
