The American Association of Endodontists (AAE) is dedicated to the excellence in the art and science of endodontics and to the highest standard of patient care. The Association inspires its members to pursue professional advancement and personal fulfillment through education, research, advocacy, leadership, communication, and service.
The AAE is currently seeking an Advocacy Manager to join our growing team. This is a new role that develops and delivers information to all stakeholders in the areas of endodontics education and professional affairs. The Advocacy Manager monitors, reports and recommends actions to address non-clinical factors that impact the practice of endodontics.
Responsibilities include: • Government and Regulatory Relations: o Collaborate on identifying and evaluating federal and state initiatives of interest to Endodontists. o Build and maintain relationships with public officials, legislative offices, regulatory bodies, and industry partners to monitor relevant issues, improve awareness, build consensus, and influence public discourse. o Partner with Congressional champions to introduce/influence legislation of importance to AAE members (e.g., education, payment, practice management, and private payer compliance.)
• Standards o Proactively identify opportunities to promote the profession. o Produce and share important payment and practice management information with members. o Provide initial review of and ensure timely response to members and staff questions on practice management, coding and payment concerns. o Maintain effective relationships with state dental boards.
• Member Engagement o Develop the AAE’s Advocacy Newsletter and oversee the AAE’s online member advocacy portal. o Assist with related committee and other meeting work/engagement, including drafting minutes, reports, correspondence and other documents. o Coordinate member travel and process reimbursements for meetings and conferences. o Utilize AAE communication tools to update members about existing and new advocacy efforts.

What we seek: • Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienced required. • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience required, preferably with a dental/health care association or dental/health care related organization. • Experience representing an organization to outside stakeholders, including addressing questions and making presentations.
• Experience working with a non-profit organization, association, and/or volunteer board. • Experience working with committee forms of governance and decision making. • Experience in government affairs and public policy analysis and processes strongly desired. • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take initiative on project development. • Strong research, analytical, communications, and leadership skills. • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to organize work, manage projects, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. • Experience with legislative tracking tools a plus. • Familiar with Health and Racial equity frameworks.
