The American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) is seeking an innovative and visionary individual, with the ability to create and execute new initiatives to join our dynamic and exciting team.
Reporting to the Executive Director/CEO, the Director, Strategy & Innovation will lead and manage major business development and assist in implementing strategic goals and objectives. The Director, Strategy & Innovation will continuously assess activities across the organization to ensure alignment with the current strategic plan, identify opportunities for revenue generation, and manage internal and external relationships to execute projects and initiatives.
As a member of the senior management team, the director will be involved in strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives. All staff play a role in collaborating, connecting and synthesizing knowledge across teams to further the Society’s mission. Therefore, this person may be assigned to any of the initiatives based on initiative cycles and evolving organizational needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive exploration and execution of new programs and non-dues revenue initiatives
Work with the Executive Director to enhance and drive organization development, including analysis and implementation of priorities, partnerships and resource needs
Regularly monitor the strategic plan and identify areas to update
Collaborate with senior leadership in reviewing ASTS volunteer groups to identify necessary resources and ensure alignment with the mission and organizational goals
Serve as the primary liaison to the Foundation Board of Directors
Work with the Executive Director and Manager, Research & Development to assess fundraising campaigns and sponsorship strategies to increase internal and external development
Attract new resources and partnerships
Liaise with DEI Officer on efforts around diversity, equity, and inclusion
Serve as the primary staff liaison to the DEI and International Relations Committees
Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Surgeon Scientist Task Force and Transplant Therapeutics Consortium

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Proven experience in developing and implementing new programs
Knowledge of data analysis, risk management and forecasting methods
Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to ASTS’ mission
