The ISBA is seeking an experienced sales professional to serve as Advertising Sales Manager. The Advertising Sales Manager's primary responsibility is to sell advertising into the publications and online products of the Illinois State Bar Association, including the Illinois Bar Journal, newsletters, the ISBA website, E-Clips, and legal blogs. Additionally, the Advertising Sales Manager is responsible for exhibit space and sponsorship sales for ISBA events, including the Annual Meeting, Midyear Meeting, and Solo & Small Firm Conference.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Sell advertising into the publications and online products of the ISBA via outgoing phone calls, emails, and direct mail promotions
Sell ISBA member mailing lists
Work with the Illinois Bar Journal’s Managing Editor each year on the Editorial Calendar and ad rates
Work with advertisers to make sure their ads are received by ISBA by deadlines
Market referral directories through ads, direct mail, and email
Maintain contracts and records of all advertising
Make sure all ads are in by deadlines and have been approved by the Assistant Executive Director, Communications
Answer all incoming calls regarding advertising
Sell exhibit space and sponsorships for all Solo & Small Firm Practice Institute events, ISBA Annual Meetings, and ISBA Midyear Meetings
Assist in designing information/application forms for Solo & Small Practice Institute events, ISBA Annual Meetings, and ISBA Midyear Meetings
Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, both verbally and in writing
A high level of initiative
A strong work ethic
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Ability to work well independently and with others
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent with multi-media sales experience, plus 2-4 years’ experience in advertising sales.
