The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for providing general support in membership, marketing and communication efforts, including the creation and execution of social media marketing, email communication campaigns, and development of content. The candidate will be detail oriented, creative, analytical and able to work at a fast pace under tight deadlines. The candidate should have proven experience developing and launching marketing and communication campaigns to promote an organization’s programs and services. Excellent writing, presentation, and proofreading skills required. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. Must be team oriented and able to handle multiple projects concurrently. Work in conjunction with the entire RFMA team to implement ideas that serve RFMA’s mission of elevating and equipping restaurant facilities professionals. This is an exempt, full-time position in the Frisco, TX office with some work-from-home flexibility.
REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Membership, Marketing & Communications
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: RFMA Website: Responsible for content management of the association’s website including:
Updating and editing web content and resources on rfmaonline.com and rfmaannualconference.com.
Updating and managing RFMA blogs
Managing and creating online forms, webpages, etc. within AMS software.
Responsible for tracking and sharing analytics.
Serving as the community manager for RFMA’s online community, SocialLink.
Social Media: Creates, manages and schedules content through RFMA’s social media channels. Tracks social media trends and overall analytics.
Dish Newsletter and Online Industry Guide:
Manages weekly Dish newsletter including working with vendor partner to provide association-related news content and updated email distribution list for weekly Dish newsletter.
Oversees online vendor marketplace produced by vendor partner. Works with vendor partner to provide continual member updates.
Assists RFMA members with questions regarding Dish newsletter and online vendor marketplace.
Works with vendor partner to create, schedule and develop Annual Conference showbrief newsletter.
Creates email communications and email templates with direction from the Sr. Director of Membership, Marketing & Communications. These email communications include Facilitator magazine, RFMA’s Annual Conference and general RFMA happenings, events and resources.
Works with Exhibits & Strategic Partnerships team to create and send quarterly Vendor Voice newsletter to RFMA Vendor members.
Facilitator Magazine (RFMA’s official bi-monthly publication)
Collects and creates Industry News section for each issue.
Coordinates and collects CRFP spotlight questionnaire information from CRFPs.
Collects and creates Association News section for each issue.
Collects and creates yearly Buyer’s Guide featured in the October/November issue of Facilitator including management of enhanced listings.
Manages the Facilitator circulation list
General Communications Support: Assists in communication, membership and marketing needs for RFMA projects, campaigns and events as needed including:
Provides graphic support and creation for RFMA events including RFMA’s Annual Conference.
Provides graphic support and creation for RFMA initiatives such as membership recruitment.
Maintains and updates vendor categories in YM database.
Assists in editing, creating and launching membership related surveys.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & CHARACTERISTICS:
Minimum 2-3 years of marketing and/or communication experience.
A Bachelor’s degree
Experience in marketing, writing, editing, and proofreading
Experience developing and executing digital marketing campaigns with measurable impact
Experience with all major social media platforms
Strong project management, problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to flexibly respond to changing needs and priorities, shift attention among simultaneous activities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and other. Proven technology skills and strong MS Office capability. Ability to learn and use other programs and technology resources including databases, internet, social media, information search and retrieval and e-mail.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs, such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop and/or Canva.
Familiarity with HTML and web content management systems a plus.
