NGVAmerica is seeking a dynamic individual to join a team dedicated to advancing America’s growing marketplace for clean air and carbon-free natural gas vehicles. With policymakers supporting initiatives to harness and utilize more domestic energy resources and advance clean transportation solutions, this position will have a unique opportunity to play a significant role in shaping efforts that support the use of more natural gas – especially from renewable sources – in transportation.
The Manager, Finance, Operations & Member Solutions is responsible for the day-to-day finance and logistical operations and member relations services of NGVAmerica. Duties include management of the organization’s financial accounts and budgets, development and implementation of membership programs and NGVAmerica’s in-person meetings and events, and support for all activities related to the organization’s standing committees and Board of Directors. This position provides administrative support to all team members and operational functions.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance & Accounting
Organize and maintain organization’s financial accounts, including check writing, invoices, deposits, accounts receivable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Process, distribute, and oversee collection of annual member dues invoices
Coordinate annual audit/review
Manage relationships with outside accountants, auditors, and vendors related to the operation of the organization
Maintain cash flow analysis reports
Provide regular reports to the President and Treasurer/Executive Committee
Human Resources
Manage relationship with HR-related vendors that provide various employee benefit services
Provide HR support to the staff as directed by the President or Executive Committee
Budgeting
Prepare monthly cash flow and forecasting analysis
Provide revenue and expense information for budget reports to President and Treasurer/Executive Committee
Work with President to construct annual budgets
Membership
Maintain and organize membership database and information tracking
Assist in the development of membership collaterals and prospective member marketing materials
Prepare annual membership invoices and solicitation packages
Process membership inquiries from potential companies and assist existing members as needed
Provide membership information and reports for President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors
Event Coordination
Support the execution of all in-person meetings and events of association
Coordinate and process registration for in-person and virtual events
Logistical & Administrative Support
Serve as administrator of organization’s DC office
Maintain organization’s meeting calendar
Receive and distribute office supplies and IT equipment
Provide administrative support to team members and operational functions as needed
KNOWLEDGE & CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
At least 5 years of finance and accounting, office services, administration, or professional administrative experience. Capitol Hill, federal agency, corporate DC office, or trade association experience preferred
Basic understanding of legislative, regulatory and political processes
Past work experience in customer service or advancing member-facing external relations preferred; ideal candidate will strive to provide a seamless, responsive, and positive membership experience
Proficiency with MS Office applications is vital. Experience with membership software like Member365, Quickbooks, and other platforms helpful
Ability to concisely convey matters clearly and effectively through emails, letters, and brief reports. Strong interpersonal and communications skills important
Ability to work as a valued member of a small team; willingness to provide administrative support to colleagues as tasked. Interest in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships
Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle rapidly shifting priorities. A quick learner is sought
Physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
LOCATION:
The position is based in Washington, DC. Remote work flexibility will be considered.
COMPENSATION:
