ACPA is seeking an experienced, high-performing Educational Programs Specialist to deliver best-in-class accredited continuing education and resources in our multi-disciplinary healthcare organization, serving providers and families affected by cleft lip and palate, and other craniofacial birth differences.
The Educational Programs Specialist will coordinate ACPA’s efforts to help its members meet their continuing professional development needs. The individual will plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities related to continuing healthcare education. This includes ACPA’s Annual Meeting, which attracts 1000+ providers during a yearly hybrid conference, and our virtual offerings. This position will oversee and maintain ACPA’s status as an accredited organization with key accrediting bodies.
This position must be skilled in project management, possess the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, pay attention to detail, be a team player, and have outstanding customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
Serve as the point person for CE accreditation management, in conjunction with Senior Manager, Education Programs, and CE consultant
Manage the abstract management platform, including submission process, review process, and speaker acceptance process
Coordinate the development of new educational programs and products for clinicians and patients related to ACPA guidelines and other clinical resources in collaboration with ACPA staff and committees
Assist with executing operational logistics for virtual educational events, including, but not limited to: speaker agreements and communication, technology setup, registration, and potential translation and inclusivity focus, in addition to working with ACPA partners
Provide support to the Education Committee and Program Task Force meetings
Collaborate on the program layout and general agenda of the Annual Meeting with Senior Manager and meeting planners
Focus on new-in-practice and student member categories, developing specific programming, and membership related in-person events at the Annual Meeting and online
Help develop ACPA’s offerings in training future researchers, and a framework to disseminate more research, on top of ACPA’s current scientific journal
Serve as primary point of contact for education inquiries, conference attendee inquiries, etc.
Upload and maintain educational content on ACPA’s learning management system
Provide copy, review, and provide edits for the education-related marketing emails
What you’ll bring to the team:
At least three years of relevant experience within an association, nonprofit, or healthcare setting, including online education delivery
Direct experience with healthcare-related continuing education, such as ACCME, ASHA, ANCC, ADA, or other related accrediting bodies
Proficiency in working with technology and databases, such as association management systems (AMS), learning management systems (LMS), and/or event registration platforms
Experience managing vendors, and working with volunteers
A sharp focus on taking projects from inception to completion
Leadership qualities including empathy and accountability, to form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability for occasional travel, less than 10%
Strong Excel skillset, and business and promotional writing skills
Commitment to and belief in ACPA's mission
