The American Accounting Association is seeking a full-time, exempt Membership Coordinator to join our team at our Lakewood Ranch Office located in Sarasota County, Florida. This position is currently a combination of 2 in-office days and 3 remote workdays. The in-office requirement may increase or decrease as needed.
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the membership functions and operations of the Membership Department supporting member events, recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts in partnership with all AAA departments and stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Respond to all member and prospective inquiries verbally and electronically on a timely basis.
Serve as the primary membership liaison; assist members with membership issues, conferences registrations, and concerns.
Appropriately route to the appropriate staff members, all inquiries received via calls or email to ensure swift resolution for members.
Identify trends from member inquiries and report to management with recommending process changes to improve member satisfaction and outreach.
Provide membership database system support as needed.
Support annual membership renewal process.
Support with implementing programs directed at renewing lapsed and expired members.
Provide staff guidance on membership database.
Responsible for the integrity of information in the membership database including member contact information, identifying, and correcting records, and membership data changes that are identified.
Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.
Coordinates with the meeting department in creation and testing of all event registration prior to opening of registration.
Assists in processing registration changes, refund requests, and other event registration inquiries.
Collaborates with fellow staff to working on membership webpages, member-focused communications, and all member initiatives and campaigns.
Process journal claim back orders.
Evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of membership processes for modifications and improvements.
Process visa letter requests for all AAA meetings.
Manages Annual Meeting projects as needed.
Ability to travel to association events as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent education required
5+ years prior customer service/office management
Some association experience preferred
Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple concurrent activities with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneDrive), Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat
Database management
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
Exceptional member service outlook and capability
Professional, pleasing phone and office demeanor
Effective problem-solver, able to work independently and has a can-do attitude
Strong team player who enjoys helping others succeed
Ability to work successfully with all levels of professionals, both internally and externally.
Valid FL driver’s license and current automobile insurance
