We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Controller/Director of Accounting. The Assistant Controller/Director of Accounting will play a critical role in the organization, responsible for overseeing all accounting aspects of our operations.

Job Summary:
As our Assistant Controller/Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations of the association including accounts payable and receivables, ensuring that payments are made and received on a timely basis and processing payroll.You’ll also perform continuous assessment of our monthly close process and work with our CFO and CEO to reduce the timing of the close and improve our financial reporting to various stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in accounting, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. You must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure financial policies and procedures are in place and adhered to.
This position is fully remote with some limited travel required for staff events and potentially member and director meetings.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably at a trade association or nonprofit organization.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity. Self-starter and working independently much of the time is required.
Advanced ability with all key Microsoft Products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
Familiarity with Association Management Software (AMS), specifically MemberSuite, is preferred or, at a minimum, experience with various “front-end” customer/member systems or CRMs is required.
