Summary
This position serves as MBA’s primary LPA contact for Senate Republicans to advocate and secure federal legislation for the real estate finance industry and/or MBA membership. Under functional supervision, the position strategically recommends initiatives, informs on industry insights, and completes assigned work initiatives. This position also interacts and collaborates cross-functionally with MBA staff (e.g., Public Policy and Industry Relations, Commercial and Multi-family, Economics and Research, etc.) to develop and implement MBA legislative and regulatory strategy and tactics, including developing and delivering position papers, issue campaigns, and programs. The position is an individual contributor role.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of eight years of prior relevant lobbying Federal legislative, cabinet agency, or regulatory work experience under the Lobbying Disclosure Act. Advanced degree preferred. Law degree and legislative drafting experience are highly valued.
