We’re looking for aSr. Manager, Volunteer Services who is passionate about building a culture of inspiration, bold thinking, and creativity that makes a difference.
What does this role do at AHIMA?
As a Sr. Manager, Volunteer Services, you are responsible for creating and streamlining the volunteer leadership development programs for all elected and appointed volunteers to advance volunteer competency, leadership skills, and future leaders.
In this role, your responsibilities include direction, management, and coordination of the volunteer structure, Nominating Committee, and Professional Ethics Committee. Promote AHIMA Core Values, develop and implement volunteer recruitment and retention strategies, training and onboarding materials, and recognition programs for all levels of volunteers.
Additional responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures, providing timely communications to volunteer leaders, members, and staff as well as ensuring goals and programs are aligned to the AHIMA Strategy and advocacy priorities, improve consistency, efficiency, and enhance AHIMA volunteer value proposition.
As a liaison to the Professional Ethics Committee and AHIMA, you will promote the high standards of the Health Information Management (HIM) practice, AHIMA Core Values, and framework for professional behavior, ensuring accountability, and responsibility consistent with AHIMA’s mission, values, and ethical principles.
Who is our ideal candidate?
You have knowledge and understanding of governance and leadership, previous volunteer and project management experience and can manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
In addition, you have:
A bachelor’s degree or higher preferred or equivalent work experience
7 years of association management and/or team leadership experience. CAE certification a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of social media and web conferencing software as well as willingness to learn new and emerging technology
