We are looking for someone to join our team as Senior Director, Financial and Business Solutions. Responsible for identifying and enacting forward-thinking strategies and tactics that achieve revenue goals and other established business goals for Insurance, Financials and Business Solutions. and other business lines/products as assigned. This function includes nurturing and expanding relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providers, and partners associated with assigned areas of responsibility to drive organizational success. Directs and manages ABSI’s governance activities and contributes to ABSI’s business operations activities so as to ensure ABSI’s operational efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance. Also works with ABSI’s President to evaluate new business opportunities, develop ABSI’s strategic plan(s), and foster a positive, progressive, results-oriented work environment that enables staff growth and development.
Summary
Business Line Management
Designs strategies and related tactics to achieve identified business goals and maximize the success of each assigned business line/product and oversees their execution.
Creates annual budget for each assigned business line/product and coordinates roll-up of all budget information related to assigned business lines/products into ABSI’s overall budget. Monitors revenue and expenses of assigned business lines/products throughout the fiscal year with a focus on obtaining or surpassing budgeted net income for each. Ensures accounting, invoicing, and recording of budget items are completed in a timely manner.
Works collaboratively with providers/partners associated with each assigned business line/product to develop, negotiate, and implement program enhancements.
In collaboration with ABSI’s Marketing provider ensures development and execution of effective marketing strategies and tactics for assigned business lines/products, as well as compliance with all marketing-related contract obligations and applicable rules and regulations.
Creates and maintains content strategy for each assigned business line/product and ensures content is developed/procured, deployed effectively, and curated.
Ensures smooth planning and execution of all webinars, in-person events, and sponsorships that are part of the marketing plans for assigned business lines/products.
Oversees Business Manager’s responsibility with registrations and participation in ASAE’s major meetings and other events for providers/partners associated with assigned business lines/products.
Ensures websites and web pages for assigned business lines/products are current and correct, remain in alignment with current branding and marketing efforts, and serve as effective tools to support marketing efforts.
Work with retirement plan provider to ensure all retirement plan documents are available and up-to-date on the website.
Represents assigned business lines/products inside and outside the association sector and personally engages in activities, such as presentations to ASAE committees and section councils and other ASAE and non-ASAE groups, interviews, and writing articles to garner interest in assigned business lines/products and support sales efforts.
Stays abreast of current literature, trends, data, etc. and leverages current and emerging best practices, new technologies, etc. to benefit assigned business lines/products.
Provides ongoing due diligence on assigned business lines/products and related providers/partners.
Works with ABSI’s President on contract negotiations and renewals for all assigned business lines/products.
Relationship Management & Customer Service
Proactively seeks to understand provider/partner goals and expectations, identify and advance emerging opportunities from within existing partnerships, and resolve challenges.
Provides advice and guidance to providers/partners on their own marketing and sales efforts, ensures that ABSI’s marketing efforts account for providers’/partners’ priorities and business goals, and ensures that all of these providers/partners receive consistent, dedicated, and professional support and timely responses to inquiries.
Proactively educates advisers and plan sponsors on the ASAE retirement plan.
Works with the rest of the ABSI Team to ensure all phone and email boxes for assigned business lines/products are managed on a consistent, ongoing basis and that all inquiries receive timely, accurate responses as appropriate.
Business Operations & Governance
Directs and manages ABSI’s governance support function, including setting board and committee meeting dates, times, and locations and handling all related meeting planning activities, compiling, and distributing materials for board meetings, and preparing and circulating meeting minutes.
Assists ABSI’s President with the operations of the ASAE Insurance Company and assists with the regulatory and governance requirements of the ASAE Retirement Trust and ASAE Investments, LLC,
Oversees ABSI’s CRM/Data management strategy to maximize results from ASAE’s AMS and other data sources.
Works with ABSI’s President and Senior Directors on budget activities as needed, including providing data, reports, and presentations.
Event Management & Staffing
Provides leadership in planning and preparing invitations and planning for participation by ABSI’s board members, providers, partners, and staff in special events such as ASAE’s Summit Awards Dinner and the ASAE Leaders Retreat.
Provides leadership to ensure coordination of, and adequate funding for, ABSI’s ASAE Annual Meeting presence with the goals of maximizing awareness of ABSI’s entire portfolio of solutions and generating leads for providers and partners.
Oversees set-up and staffing, of ABSI booths at various ASAE conferences and other conferences as needed.
Staff Management & Development
Supervises Business Operations Manager ensuring work supported is appropriate in time management, knowledge, and skills required to complete the job duties professionally and in a timely manner.
Works with ABSI’s President and the other Senior Directors to ensures that ABSI’s staffing is aligned to support ABSI’s goals and initiatives.
Additional Tasks
Assists with planning, prioritization and execution of ABSI President’s initiative as related to assigned products and services.
Works with ABSI’s President and the rest of the ABSI Team to develop, update, and implement ABSI’s strategic plan(s).
Participates in select work groups to understand impact of ASAE initiatives on current and potential ABSI’s offerings.
All other duties as assigned and related to the mission and purpose of ABSI and ASAE and its divisions and members.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in program management and business operations. Prior experience and knowledge of retirement plans and insurance programs preferred.
Experience with an association’s for-profit subsidiary/operations a plus. Solid track record in achieving positive financial results. Ability to conduct due diligence on new business opportunities.
Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues and make sound business decisions based upon that data.
Strong marketing skills and experience, including establishing strategies, communications, and program launches.
General knowledge of finance, including ability to read and understand financial data such as program revenue, operating expenses, net income, and return on investment analysis.
Intimate knowledge of people management skills, particularly influence management and conflict resolution.
Strong presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
Ability to develop knowledge and relationships needed to work effectively with all divisions of ASAE.
Strong technology skills and desire to learn new technologies, including, but not limited to, databases, virtual presentation systems, and electronic marketing systems. Must be comfortable using technology on day-to-day basis ???????
