The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is seeking a Senior Director, Practice Excellence to support elevating the work of the Academy’s dietetic practice groups, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, policies and resources. Reporting to the Chief Mission, Strategy and Impact Officer, this role will support the Practice Excellence Committee in the transition of organizational units to fully harness underutilized practice expertise and enhance the engagement of volunteer leaders. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies that provide members with opportunities to enhance their specialty knowledge and skills, foster collaboration, contribute to a robust array of practitioner resources and increase the visibility of our members and the profession.
Responsibilities:
Elevate Dietetic Practice Groups: Collaborate with leadership to align the strategic and operational objectives of the Dietetic Practice Groups with the Academy’s overarching priorities, ensuring effective use of resources.
Lead Organizational Change: Oversee significant transformation initiatives aimed at optimizing the utilization of practice expertise and enhancing volunteer leader engagement to fulfill the Academy's mission.
Enhance Member Opportunities: Develop and implement programs that provide members with resources for enhancing specialty knowledge and skills, including webinars, publications, newsletter articles, and practitioner resources.
Foster Networking and Collaboration: Create opportunities for members to network with colleagues, share best practices, and engage in collaborative projects that enhance professional growth.
Leadership Development: Identify and collaborate with staff teams to facilitate leadership development opportunities that empower volunteer leaders to take active roles in the Academy’s initiatives and operations.
Financial Stewardship: Ensure compliance with financial policies while developing and managing budgets related to programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Dietetics, Nutrition and Foodservice with emphasis in management and business, along with 8-10 years of relevant experience. RDN is required.
Proven experience in leading transformational change within an organization, preferably in a nonprofit or professional association setting.
Strong understanding of organizational dynamics, volunteer engagement and the dietetics profession.
Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing effective programs and initiatives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders.
Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
Strong managerial skills, with a proven ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
Proficiency in budget and financial management.
About Us:
The Academy offers a competitive starting salary range from $170,000 - $180,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience, as well as an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, LTD, tuition reimbursement and 401k match with IMMEDIATE VESTING!
